some excerpts from the Handbook….
from page 3 …. To derive the maximum benefit from classroom activities and formal instructions, students should strive for punctual and consistent attendance. According to policy, candidates preparing to receive a Sacrament (Penance, Eucharist, Confirmation) must have had at least two (2) years of religious education immediately preceding the reception of the Sacrament.
No student is permitted in any classroom without a teacher.
Students are expected to attend all classes in a given academic year. Given the fact that unforeseen circumstances arise, the following policy has been instituted:
- A written note from the parent is required to explain all absences for Levels 1—6. Catechists will assign make up work, which parents are responsible for having children complete and turn in by the next class.
- Three (3) absences = parent/child meeting with the DRE plus a grade level appropriate make–up assignment.
